jem meets jesse vere

so i caved to the 80’s fad… never a dull moment. here’s the portrait of my sister and my nephew ala “jem” influence, still in process:

curiously wise jesse vere

finished “cursiously wise” owl… and “snakefish head”… finishing “CME” and then on to “glow cow” and whatever comes next… lots of animals lately so i think i’ll try to get back to some surreal/abstract/impressionism/expressionism. suggestions welcome. patrons as well…

paranoidal jesse vere

remember the noid from those dominos commercials? always trying to take everyones pizza? he was awesome.

anyways, finished the flower owl yesterday, he/she looks paranoid (see below, maybe i just need some b vitamins?), pretty simplish but of course i had to embelish and add molding paste and gel gloss to give the piece its own character via texture/dynamic. which reminds me, looking for anyones personal experience in using other acrylic mediums (other than glosses or molding pastes). any recommendations?

descent of jesse vere: the snakefishhead

had to dispense of some excess tiffany blue that i mixed for another painting so i slapped this together on the fly… opinions on the “unfinished/drip” look?
